She is widely recognized for her standout performances in the MGM+ crime series Godfather of Harlem, portraying the young Serena Williams in the biographical film King Richard, and playing Sally Reeves in the Paramount+ western series Lawmen: Bass Reeves.
Demi’s acting career began in 2017 when she was just 10 years old. She made her Broadway debut in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s School of Rock, showcasing her talent at a young age. After spending nearly a year performing in the hit musical, she transitioned to another iconic Broadway production, The Lion King, where she portrayed the young Nala. These early experiences on Broadway helped Singleton hone her acting skills and build a strong foundation for her future in the industry.

Early Life and Childhood
Singleton was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, but her family hails from Honduras in Central America and the Caribbean island of Dominica. She spent her early years in New Orleans before moving to New York City at the age of three. Once in New York, she began her training in the arts, working with some of the best teachers in music, dance, and acting.
Demi started studying classical ballet when she was just three years old, and by the age of four, she had taken up the cello. For six years, she attended a prestigious music conservatory for children in Brooklyn, where she learned to play instruments by ear using the Suzuki method.
